On February 6th, 2009, my grandfather passed away. Words cannot describe this loss to me. I love him so much. Below is a post dedicated to him. Please keep my family in your prayers.




Bus driver. Farmer. Small-Engine Repairman. Ukrainian. Strong. Compassionate. Dog-lover. Father. Friend. Coupon-cutter. Smart. Quick-witted. Grocery-Store shopper. The list goes on forever, I'll cut it short though :

My Grandfather.


I'll never forget the amount of strength you had as a human being. I won't forget the nights I'd hear you walk into the kitchen, up to cut your coupons, or the way that you'd be all gruff and stuff to Caroline, but everyone knew you wouldn't hurt a fly. That is, unless that fly went and hurt anyone you loved. I'll never forget your dogs, or the stories that you told about the food you'd feed them. I'll never forget the stories Nanny and my mom told me about you, and the person you were. I'll never forget the laughs shared at the story's expense. I feel like there were a lifetime of stories that I'll never get to hear you tell. You were such a fantastic human being, I wish that I could have known you better. Every second of every day I'll think about you. I love you grandpa. You made my mom a great person, and you gave her the stories and heritage that she passed down to me.I'll never forget you Grandpa

I'll miss you at Christmas, when you sat and let us kids watch movies instead of you watching your shows. I'll miss you at Thanksgiving when you aren't here to eat with us. I'll miss you every visit back, because there won't be anyone coming to visit your shop. I'll miss you trying to convince my dad to let us get a dog. I'll miss the endless cokes and the two full fridges stuffed with the food you bought. I'll miss the visits from the cookie man. I'll miss you so much grandpa, it hurts.
